--------------------Welcome!

The Lord has blessed our family greatly both through adoption and birth. And because there are so many personalities in our family there is much to think about. This blog is a way to put some of those thoughts down and share our journey.

I hope that my words spur you on, encourage you on a so-so day, and point you to the Lord.

A Camping We Will Go

We had planned to camp for an extended weekend all summer. The temperatures this summer have been cooler than most so it really sounded like a great idea. Well the summer days got away from us, compounded by two teenagers with differing work schedules so it wasn't until last weekend that we actually got to camp. We had jokingly said that now the temperatures would go to the 100's - really we were joking. It didn't make it to 100 but it was mid-90's throughout the weekend. But what's a camping trip without a little sweat.

What you don't see in this picture is our 4 oldest kids dancing to music on the radio in the car beside us. The entire mini-van was bouncing up and down.

The first day Nathan didn't care who he was with as long as he was in the water. He didn't wear the life jacket much, we were trying to see if he would float in it. He and Joel hung out on the inner tube for a little while.

Our temporary home. We hadn't done any real camping for about 10 years and 3 kids ago. When we got our camping gear out of the attic Ken and I got a good chuckle when we saw an old list. After ten years we still needed the sippy cup and blankies that were on the original list.

Daniel got to do some fishing. Didn't catch any thing but lost some bait to nibbles.

Ken went along to encourage Daniel and to help untangle the line.

So this is why there are weird pictures of thing I don't remember on the camera. Busted!

Doin' dishes. Camping is work!

After our last dinner at camp - spaghetti - Nathan said he was, "aw du".

Even after packing up before the storm came we had a lot of fun and made some good family memories.
